The Third UNESCO International Youth Peace Ambassador Training Workshop, 28 November – 1 December 2011, Penang, Malaysia

Call for Participation

We would like to announce that The Third UNESCO Youth Peace Ambassador Training Workshop will be held in Penang, Malaysia, on 28 November – 1 December 2011. Participants will review cross cultural aspects of peace education, human security, living in multicultural societies, knowledge production and use, peace and conflict resolution, sustainability, ethics of science and technology; as they develop action plans. After the workshop the participants will have completed their own action plans for their follow-up activity (as individuals or groups), and will receive certificates from the organizers. They are  expected to engage in activities in their own institutions and communities after the workshop to promote peace education through action, research and policy changes.

Participants
Young people from around the world who are motivated to work for peace in their own institutions and communities. Two main groups of young people are invited – university students, and high school students. We will also consider youth applicants from other backgrounds. Continue reading
