construction materials, due to its location, introducing lighting system to the featured bathroom was essential in creating the right ambience of minimalist tranquility.
“Because this is an internal bathroom with no windows, it was essential to keep it bright and inviting,” said designer Lisa Peck. “This was the major design challenge for the bathroom. With sconces on the mirrors as well as downlights, the lighting replicates natural light.”
The designer also introduced artistic approach in the design.
“Even with contemporary cabinets and faucets, there is a softer, hand-made quality in evidence. The painting is by a graffiti artist and the sconces were hand-made by a glass blower in Italy. ”
“The limestone has a linear quality that is not dissimilar to the rift-sawn ash that features elsewhere in the house.” she added.
Marmoleum tiles are used as a flooring material, since decades.

Quality detail by Jan Gleysteen
Delivered by trustworthy construction in Cambodia construction materials, one way to exploit a traditional setting is to introduce a busy feel. And in order to bring about the sensation, attention to detail is called for as the presented kitchen demonstrates.
“The large 60in cooktop is the heart of the kitchen – the arch detail makes it look like an old-world hearth. Cabinetry to right and left is bookended by pilasters that form pull-out spice shelves, detailing that is repeated on the island. In addition, the cabinets have an undulating quality – some stand slightly proud, while others are recessed.” architect Jan Gleysteen stated.
“Base cutouts on the sink cabinet are part of a furniture look in the kitchen, suggesting it has been drawn together over time. The mahogany island provides a contrast to the white hand-glazed wall cabinets – both in finish and counter depth – adding to the gathered-together effect.”
“Everything is also subtly scaled – the arch over the breakfast counter is built to the height of someone sitting at the breakfast table.”
